For Izayne, production has become a way of life, as music is as natural to his existence as the air he breathes. With vocal abilities far beyond his years, evidence of this prodigy’s inimitable gift in music surfaced early in his childhood. Growing up with his grandmother, music was always made available to him as Izayne recalls the set of drums, two keyboards, three pianos, and bass guitar set up sporadically throughout the house. Church and choir rehearsal twice a week was non-negotiable as the grandson of a reverend bride mother. Izayne Lewis recorded his first song “Be My Girl,” at the age of fourteen in a small studio in Saginaw, MI. In 1988 he began recording and producing himself and local artists at his grandmother’s house in Bay City, MI under his independent label, Git It Dawg Productions. Since then Izayne’s gift has enslaved him to a lifetime career of music involvement beginning in 1993 as owner and co-operator of Dawg House Records, the largest independent full production studio open to the public in the Tri-City area. Additionally, in 1999 Izayne’s position as singer/songwriter for the male R&B group Heart2Soul resolved after five years of countless performances, thousands of fans, and the unfortunate event of a poorly managed record deal in London. Izayne realigned focus on himself with his partnership in Dawg House Records with Daniel Waltenburg. One commonality among all legends is the period in their life where a series of unfortunate events triggers the downturn that precedes their rebirth as the optimal version of who they were meant to be. At this point in his timeline, Izayne was no exception. The loss of his life-long inspiration, nurturer of his childhood, and true mother figure, Ora Lee Wilkins in 2006. One whose life has been the bearer of battles inter-mitten. His journey toward musical stardom in junction with his dedication as a father brought him to a number of crossroads, some of which yielded domestic hardship and loss, but all of which sculpted his mentality today as a man with only one purpose to fulfill. Among the 350 plus artists he has produced since the age of 17, and a handful of independent label endeavors in both the U.S. and Europe, Izayne has earned his reputation as one of the most well-known producers in the Mid West and respected as the most valuable and prestigious unsigned musical genius in the independent music industry. With deep roots in the soulful vocal runs and melodies of Gospel music, Izayne is known for his "in-your-face harmony," catchy hooks, and unconventional compositional techniques. With the industry’s technological advancements and continuing rise of the sophisticated audio engineering possibilities of the past two decades, so also has Izayne developed both as an artist and producer. Having designed and refined a formula for hit-making, his self-acquired audio engineering experience, and an unprecedented ability to adapt to virtually any style of music places him among the most versatile producers of all time.
